Message from the President
I am excited to announce that the Golden Retriever Senior Rescue Sanctuary and Educational Center, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 pending Charitable Organization. Final approval is pending.
The organization began as a vision to a small group of Golden enthusiasts and when shared with Golden friends and supporters, the idea began to take shape and grew into reality. The Sanctuary will provide a nurturing long-term home to senior rescue Goldens, as well as training, therapy, grooming and animal welfare education programs.
Nationwide Golden Rescue Programs do an amazing job facilitating adoptions and serving the vast needs of rescue Goldens, but frequently find their limited resources stretched thin by providing long term care for their senior rescue Goldens who are not candidates for adoption. The Sanctuary and Educational Center will enable these programs to rescue and place more “in-need” dogs by providing a permanent home for their Senior/Special Needs/Hospice Goldens who require life-long specialized care.
Planning for the Sanctuary is underway and will commence in the fall of 2013 at Profile Goldens in Barrington, New Hampshire.
Soon, I will reach out to ask for your individual support to help us develop and sustain the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary will depend on fund-raising, social and educational events for support and we will rely on a team of volunteers to provide transportation, grooming, exercise, socialization and companionship to the Sanctuary resident senor rescue Goldens.
